Charlotte Rolph-Mantia, 9, starts to cry as her grandmother, Judy Rolph, a cancer survivor, cuts her hair. Students and faculty at John XXIII Elementary School participated in a hair donation event Friday, May 13 in Middletown. Eighteen students, fifteen girls and three boys who had their hair buzzed, and four John XXIII staff members got their hair cut in the program whose goal is to make it possible for women everywhere to share their hair with women whove lost theirs. Pantene has partnered with the American Cancer Society to make and distribute real-hair wigs and has donated more than 42,000 real-hair wigs to the national American Cancer Society Wig Bank.
