"Bang Bang," the lead single from Green Day's latest album "Revolution Radio," tackles gun violence in its content and video but the musicians had other plans during its performance at the AMAs.
After transitioning to a cover of punk group MDC's "Born to Die," Rolling Stone reported that the band changed the song's last lyrics to, "No Trump, no KKK, no fascist USA."
The same chant has been heard at various anti-Trump protests across the country since the election.
Political commentary isn't new for the band. Some songs on its 2004 album critiqued the presidency of George W. Bush and the war in Iraq, including the title track.
