One lucky Florida town now boasts two Chick-fil-A locations—right next to each other

What’s the only thing better than Chick-fil-A? Two Chick-fil-A’s, of course!

For the residents of Merritt Island, Florida, this dream is about the become a reality. According to Florida Today, a Chick-fil-A is set to open this week in the parking lot of Merritt Square Mall, just a few hundred feet from the existing Chick-fil-A in the mall’s food court. The space was previously occupied by a TGI Fridays.

Florida Today reports that the food court Chick-fil-A will remain open for the foreseeable future. Speaking with the paper, local residents expressed enthusiasm over hosting not one, but two locations of the fast food chain.

"It’s like waiting on Christmas," one quipped. "So glad we finally have a drive through location," another said.

Ahead of its opening on Thursday August 23, franchise owner Kersh Peterson is hosting two youth-focused community service projects, including an opportunity for campers to assemble upwards of 700 meals for the Children’s Hunger Project. Peterson also helps run the Chick-fil-A Leader Academy program in local schools.
