Nelly fans stream 'Hot in Herre' to help rapper pay off massive tax debt

Nelly fans are partying like it's 2002 to give him a financial boost after reports circulated that he is facing a massive tax debt.

According to the St. Louis Business Journal, the IRS recently filed a $2.4 million tax lien against the "Hot in Herre" rapper in St. Charles County, Missouri. Nelly, born Cornell Haynes Jr., also reportedly owes Missouri nearly $150,000 and faces a more than $51,000 tax lien from California.

After Spin magazine reported that fans would need to stream "Hot in Herre" on Spotify at least 287,176,547 times to foot the bill, fans flocked to the streaming site. Meanwhile, the hashtags #HotinHerreStreamingParty and #SaveNelly exploded on Twitter.
