Rock does not come with a side of whiskey or any other alcohol one Sunday a month at a downtown Dayton bar and restaurant.

Hannah's, a restaurant, bar and music venue at 21 N. Ludlow St. in downtown Dayton, presents The Sober Show every third Sunday of the month, owner Luke Feerer said.

Giving up alcohol does not have to mean giving up a love of live music, he said.

“Dayton is bleeding with people who are getting sober, and I am proud of them,” Feerer added. “There are a lot of music fans out there.”

Feerer said the alcohol-free party hosted by local musician Gil O'Bryan is held from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.

The party, started in early 2019, often includes a speaker before the live music begins.

There is a cover charge for the main act.

Donnie Rose and Friends will play Sunday, July 21. Doors open at 7 p.m. with music starting at 8 p.m.

There is a $5 cover.

Feerer said Hannah removes its alcohol and other triggers.

Instead, a selection of coffee, energy drinks and food is served.

“After we take the wine bottles and the whiskey bottles out of there, it just looks like a restaurant,” Feerer said.
