Less than a month after Madonna's largely derided Billboard Music Awards tribute to Prince, the BET Awards has announced some of the performers for its own tribute.

The BET Awards notably tweeted then deleted a pointed jab at the BBMAs after Madonna's performance, in which she sang "Nothing Compares 2 U" and was later joined by Stevie Wonder for "Purple Rain."

"Yeah, we saw that. Don't worry. We got you," the video in the tweet said.

Now BET has announced some of the performers for its own award show tribute, and it looks promising.

Shelia E, D'Angelo, Janelle Monae and The Roots are "only a few" of the performers who will celebrate Prince when the award show airs June 26.

Questlove, the drummer for The Roots, defended Madonna and Wonder's tribute after the show aired, tweeting, "Just to sing his work is brave enough."

Pop music news site Idolator reported that Questlove also helped produce Madonna's tribute, so the outcome of the BET Awards celebration of Prince remains to be seen.
