New West Chester eatery features Mediterranean grill menu

A new Butler County eatery sports the trappings of a fast-food joint, but aims to serve fare as fresh and healthy as a full-fledged restaurant.

>> New restaurant: Fresh, healthy Mediterranean

Kinz Kabob opened last week at 7312 Kingsgate Way in West Chester Twp. just south of Tylersville Road.

Menu choices feature six different sandwiches ranging from falafel sandwich, grilled chicken and beef burger to chicken shawarma, beef shawarma and mixed shawarma. All are priced at $3.99 each.

Entree-style items include chicken shawarma or beef shawarma for $7.99, served with rice, vegetables, pita and hummus. There’s also two sizes of shish tawouk (marinated chicken shish kabob) and kafta (beef) kabob costing $6.99 for the smaller size and $8.99 for the larger.

“It’s a clean, authentic (place) that represents well what Jordanian and Mediterranean food is, but also at the same time keeping the prices manageable for anyone that doesn’t just want to go into fine dining to spend a lot of money,” said Majd Alselite, son of owner Sharhabil Alselite. “It’s opened in a modern way, such as Chipotle, so that the prices aren’t very expensive but it’s still healthy, it still fills you up.”

Kinz Kabob has hired five people and continues to hire more, he said.

Hours are 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday to Saturday and noon to 9 p.m. For more information, call 513-755-2999.
