General Electric Co. has picked up another big aviation engine contract from Wright-Patterson Air Force Base.

GE in Cincinnati has been awarded $101,345,500 for a contract action for F-15EX Lot One engine production.

Today, the F110-GE-129 powers more than 70% of the “most advanced” Air Force F-16C/D aircraft, according to GE.

Work will be performed in Cincinnati, and is expected to be completed by Nov. 30, 2022.

The Defense Department said this award is “the result of an unusual and compelling urgency acquisition.”

The contract came from the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center, which is based at Wright-Patterson.

Also among recent defense contracts, a company with a presence in Beavercreek has won a hefty U.S. Army contract to replace radio communications components.

DRS Advanced ISR LLC, also doing business as “Leonardo DRS,” which has offices at 2601 Mission Point Blvd., was awarded a $250,000,000 contract to replace aging Joint Tactical Terminals scheduled for end-of-life status in fiscal year 2025.

Bids were solicited via the internet with one received, the Department of Defense said. Work locations and funding will be determined with each order, with an estimated completion date of July 30, 2025.

The contract came from the U.S. Army Contracting Command, Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland.
