Home for the Holidays: Meijer offers home delivery services on toys

There’s no need to leave your home this holiday season.

Meijer is adding thousands of general merchandise items to its popular store-to-door home delivery service. Customers can now order gifts and toys, wrapping paper, artificial trees and Christmas decorations online and then have it delivered to their door this holiday season.

“Whether you are looking for a turkey, toys and gifts or even decorations, our brick-and-mortar stores combined with a personal shopping solution provides something for everyone’s holiday shopping needs,” said Meijer president and CEO Rick Keyes.

Meijer and home delivery partner Shipt has expanded to more than 200 stores in Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, Illinois, Wisconsin and Kentucky. The services started in the Dayton and Cincinnati region in April. Home delivery then expanded in Columbus, Dublin and Fairborn in May.

More than 70,000 items can be hand-picked by Shipt shoppers from local Meijer stores. Items also include electronics like TVs, tablets, headphones, drones and gaming systems. Shoppers go on the Shipt app or website and order what they need online. A Shipt personal shopper goes to the nearest Meijer store, picks up the needed items and brings it right to the customer’s door.
