CVS Pharmacy to add same-day delivery for prescriptions

CVS Pharmacy announced plans to bring prescriptions directly to patients' doors with nationwide next-day delivery from pharmacy locations beginning in early 2018.

Select cities will also offer same-day delivery within hours, allowing customers the option of getting their prescriptions delivered right to their door. CVS is first offering free, same-day delivery service from all locations in Manhattan starting next month.

Same-day delivery will expand to MiamiBostonPhiladelphiaWashington, DC and San Francisco in early 2018. CVS Pharmacy also continues to expand its partnership with Instacart to offer personal shopping at 2,600 CVS Pharmacy stores across the country. Instacart delivery will be available to 50 percent of U.S. households by year end.

"Providing same and next-day options for delivery of medications is just another way we can help our patients get and stay healthy," said Helena Foulkes of executive vice president of CVS Health and president of CVS Pharmacy.
