Here’s how it works:

1. Choose Pickup at checkout online.

2. When the order is ready, workers at the Huber Heights Walmart will load it into the Pickup Tower and shoppers will receive a notification.

3. At the store, customers will scan the barcode sent to their smartphones at the Pickup Tower and it will dispense the orders.

“Our customers tell us they love how easy the Pickup Tower is to use and appreciate the time they save,” said Walmart store manager Darren Paul. “In 2019, the company plans to roll out more towers and other innovations in the Miami Valley that will make shopping easier and more convenient.”

Walmart recently announced that it will spend roughly $81.9 million remodeling and launching technology options at Ohio stores.

There are also pickup towers at Walmart stores in Franklin, Lebanon, Middletown, Clayton and others in Ohio.
