GOP women back Beagle

The three Republican women in the 33-member Ohio Senate are backing state Sen. Bill Beagle, R-Tipp City, in his run for the 8th District Congressional seat.

Sens. Shannon Jones, R-Springboro, Peggy Lehner, R-Kettering, and Gayle Manning, R-North Ridgeville, announced in a press release that they are endorsing Beagle.

Beagle announced he is running for the seat expected to be vacated by speaker of the U.S. House John Boehner in the coming weeks or months. Beagle faces at least four other Republican opponents in a special primary election, which Ohio Gov. John Kasich is expected to schedule after Boehner's resignation date is set.
