Bengals sign linebacker

The Cincinnati Bengals have signed linebacker Chris Carter, a fourth-year linebacker who spent three seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Pittsburgh drafted Carter in the fifth round in 2011, and the 6-foot-1, 248-pounder played in 29 games with four starts. The Steelers waived him at the conclusion of the 2014 preseason, and he signed with Indianapolis on Sept. 10.

Carter played in the Sept. 28 Colts game against Tennessee, but he was inactive for four other games and was waived Oct. 6.
