David Jablonski grew up buying old copies of Sports Illustrated for 10 cents at the local public library, helping him to start training to become a sports writer. He has always loved sports and especially the local teams in Cincinnati, so working in sports seemed natural for him. He also enjoys playing basketball three times a week.
Jablonski started at the News-Sun in May of 2001 after a two-year stint with the Press Journal in Vero Beach, Fla. He covers Springfield-area sports of all sorts, also Wittenberg and Wright State athletics and Dayton. Dragons. He graduated from Fayetteville High School in 1995. He majored in journalism at Ohio University, graduating in 1999. He completed internships at the Fort Wayne Journal Gazette, the South Bend Tribune and the Scripps Howard News Service.
