Shayne Graham retires as honorary member of Cincinnati Bengals

Shayne Graham ceremonially retired as a member of the Cincinnati Bengals on Tuesday.

The veteran kicker spent seven of his 15 seasons with the Bengals and is the franchise leader in field goal percentage (86.76).

A Pro Bowler in 2005 when the Bengals won the AFC North for the first time under coach Marvin Lewis, Graham holds club records for highest FG percentage in a season (91.18 in 2007) and consecutive FGs made (21 in ’07). His 779 points as a Bengal rank second behind Jim Breech (1151).

His time in Cincinnati came to a disappointing end as he missed a pair of field goals in a 24-14 loss to the Jets in the playoffs in January 2010.

In a press release, the Bengals noted Graham was one of the team’s most reliable sources of community service during his time in Cincinnati, including via his “Kicks for Kids” program for at-risk children in the greater Cincinnati area.
