HS Result 12/28: Lakota West girls top Wayne

The Lakota West girls basketball team bested Wayne, winning 60-43.

Abby Prohaska put up 20 points, six rebounds, four assists and one steal in the win.

Jasmine Ballew added on eight points and six rebounds, while Madisyn Oxley chipped in five additional points and rebounds.

Kyra Willis had a double double for Wayne in the loss. Willis tallied 11 points, 12 rebounds and one steal.

Aubryanna Hall tacked on 10 points, four rebounds and one steal.

Boys Basketball

Piqua 62, Lehman Catholic 53: Devon Brown scored 23 points in the Holiday Classic win for Piqua. Preston Rogers led Lehman Catholic with 19.

Talawanda 51, Miami Valley 48: Ty Hornsby netted a double double for Talawanda in the win, putting up 25 points and 10 rebounds. Josh DeWitt tacked on eight points and 10 rebounds. Marc Williams tallied 20 in the loss.

Madison 60, Cincinnati Christian 56: Grant Whisman and Ryan Duritsch each put up 14 points for Madison in the Brian Cook Classic win. Johnny Nimmo tacked on 15 points for CC.

Alter 80, John Paul II (Fla.) 35: Connor Bazelak sunk four three point shots to lead Alter with 26 points. Patrick Copenhaver scored 13 in the loss.

Carroll 52, Bishop Watterson 47: The Carroll boys took the first game of the Northridge tournament with the win. Eli Ramsey put up 18 points to aid the effort for Carroll. Zach Sawyer earned 10 in the loss.

Troy Christian 63, Covington 31: James Anderson put up 21 points in the Piqua Holiday Classic win. Braden Miller had 12 points for Covington.

Girls Basketball

Springboro 46, Hamilton Southeastern (Ind.) 42: Jordan Diehl netted 13 points in the tournament win. Molly Walton put up 11 for HSE.

Tippcanoe 42, West Liberty-Salem 38: Maddie Frederick led with 14 points for Tipp in its win. Taylor Lauck shot for 11 points and three steals for WLS.

Trotwood 55, Cin. Trailblazers: 43 Shaiquel McGruder tallied 27 points in the win.

Hamilton 58, Harrison 38: Anna Cardwell put up 22 points, four assists, two rebounds and two steals in the win. Cici Riggins tacked on 20 points and 18 rebounds for the double double. Hayley Harmon led Harrison with 11.

Graham 33, Piqua 32: Madi Vanscoy scored eight points and earned 12 rebounds in the one point Graham victory.

Tecumseh 97, Sidney 34: Corrine Thomas tallied 35 points in the Tecumseh victory. Presley Griffitts added on 20. Alina Kindle put up 15 points in the loss.

Waynesville 72, East Clinton 47: Rachel Murray put up 21 points for Waynesville.

Mechanicsburg 76, Botkins 56: Kasey Schipfer led ‘Burg all around, contributing a game high 23 points, seven rebounds, six assists, six steals and a pair of blocked shots. Elly Schipfer tacked on a season high 18 points and career high 17 rebounds for the double double. Sarah Bergman shot for 13 in the loss.

Southeastern 37, Urbana 26: Alaina Lyons had 13 points for Urbana.

Arcanum 51, Twin Valley South 31: Kayla O’Daniel netted 16 points to help Arcanum to victory. Mylan Crews led TVS with 14 in the loss.

Bradford 40, Tri County North 37: Skipp Miller scored eight points to lead Bradford.

Franklin Monroe 51, National Trail 29: Corina Conley shot for 18 points to led FM to victory. Evan Byrd’s 11 points fell short in the NT effort.

Tri-Village 51, Bethel 31: Maddie Downing put up 20 points in the win, while Lissa Siler tacked on 16.

Coldwater 73, St. Henry 47: Kourtney Diller led the way for Coldwater with 21 point. Lauren Gilliland tacked on 14 points and eight rebounds.

St. Marys 60, Bellefontaine 38: Syd Cisco and Makenna Mele co-led St. Marys with 18 points in the win. Hannah Rader and Chalony Tolliver each scored eight points for Bellefontaine.

Boys Bowling

Graham 2587, Ben Logan 2535: The Ben Logan boys rolled their season high in the loss. Dalton Shields led with games of 176 and 204 for a 380 series for BL.
