Reds reliever Luke Farrell was claimed off waivers today by the Chicago Cubs.

Farrell, a 6-foot-6, 210-pound right-hander, posted a 2.61 ERA this season in nine games — all in relief — with the Reds.

Relievers Alejandro Chacin and Asher Wojciechowski cleared waivers and were outrighted to Triple-A Louisville. Starting pitcher Nick Travieso was reinstated from the 60-day disabled list, cleared waivers and was outrighted to Louisville.

The Reds’ 40-man roster stands at 36 players.
