Recruiting roundup: Nick Saban hits area, Danny Davis connects with Wisconsin, MSU moving on Dunbar, etc.

When you play football as well as we do in the Miami Valley, colleges are bound to want some of your players.
Here's a look at some of the latest developments on the recruiting front.

Springfield multipurpose senior Danny Davis appears to have received a visit from Wisconsin.

A 247Sports composite four-star, Davis is the top-rated senior in the area who has not verbally committed.

Earlier this week, he told Rivals.com he is essentially down to the Badgers, Cincinnati, Kentucky and West Virgina.

One of Davis’ younger teammates, Leonard Taylor, is making future plans.

The 2018 four-star tight end/defensive lineman told Rivals.com he is planning to visit Ohio State later this month.

The former Michigan verbal commit also hopes to see Michigan State soon and make some trips to see some Southern school.

He visited Wisconsin and Penn State in the fall.

Like Springfield, Wayne also has a good-looking group of juniors.

Four-star receiver L’Christian “Blue” Smith shared this week he received offers from Duke and Cincinnati.

The Bearcats also offered the 2018 prospect for basketball.

Smith’s offers reportedly include Ohio State, Alabama, Michigan, Michigan State, Penn State and Notre Dame.

Meanwhile, classmate Alex Reigelsperger visited Toledo and also got an offer from Duke.

Reigelsperger is a three-star defensive end whose offers include Pitt, UC, Miami (Ohio), Wisconsin, West Virginia, Iowa and Kentucky, among others.

Michigan State might end up with multiple Dayton Dunbar players in its 2018 class.

Earlier in the week, Dunbar junior receiver Joseph Scates committed to Mark Dantonio's team, and  Friday morning teammate Tavion Thomas let the world know he has an offer to be a Spartan, too.

In the past the pair of have indicated they would be a package deal.

Thomas, a three-star running back, also got an offer from Wisconsin this week.

Nick Saban was in southwest Ohio this week.

The Alabama coach and former Crimson Tide center Ryan Kelly (now of the Colts) were spotted at Lakota West on Thursday.

Saban also stopped in at Fairfield, where coach Jason Krause reports getting numerous visits recently -- including the coach of the reigning national champions, Clemson.

Fairfield is home to five-star 2018 offensive lineman Jackson Carman and three-star defensive end Malik Vann.

Greeneview tight end Ethan Bradds is headed to Eastern Kentucky for an official visit.
