Monroe graduate Morrison will be Madison’s next athletic director

Madison High School has announced the hiring of Matt Morrison, a 2004 Monroe graduate, as its new athletic director.

Morrison is currently the AD at Calvary Christian. He will serve in that role through the end of 2016.

Darren Stevens began the school year as Madison’s athletic director. He recently resigned, but is still an assistant principal, and Jeff Smith has been filling in as interim AD.

Morrison was previously an assistant athletic director and baseball coach at Dayton Christian. He is a Registered Athletic Administrator working toward his Certified Athletic Administrator designation.

Morrison was a three-sport letterman in football, basketball and baseball at Monroe. He played three years of college baseball at Cedarville, where he earned a bachelor of arts degree in athletic administration.

As a coach at Dayton Christian, Morrison went 47-33 in three seasons, earning the Metro Buckeye Conference Coach of the Year award all three years. Last spring, he guided Calvary Christian to 15 wins, a single-season school record.

Morrison and his wife Emilie have been married five years. They have a daughter, Teagan Michelle, who was born in July, 2016.
