How you can play vintage video games, meet Bengal great for good cause

Football fans looking for something to do this weekend in Southwest Ohio should consider a trip to Rick’s Tavern and Grille in Fairfield.

That is where the 10th annual Midwest Tecmo Super Bowl Tournament will be held beginning Saturday morning.

As the name suggests, the event will feature a day-long competition pitting players against each other on Tecmo Super Bowl, a classic early 1990s video game that still has a cult following today.

The gathering is for more than fun, though, as proceeds will go to the David Fulcher Foundation’s fight against multiple sclerosis.

The former Bengals star (and current football coach at Cincinnati Christian University) will serve as emcee for the tournament, which can be pre-registered for at www.MWtecmo.com.

Entry into the tournament is $35, and the fee covers the cost of a t-shirt, items from Yuengling and 1991 NFL memorabilia.

Registration is scheduled from 9:30-10:30 on Saturday morning with the games commencing at 11.

Winners will receive cash prizes and trophies.

Those who are not interested in playing are still invited to join in the fun.
