HS Highlights for Oct. 20: Erlandson sets 2 records in sectional win

Jake Erlandson broke two school records in Dayton Christian’s 11-0 win over Twin Valley South in boys soccer Division III sectional play on Thursday.

Erlandson paced DC with 4 goals, breaking the record for all-time goals with the 93rd of his career. He also set a record for career assists.

Sam Thompson added 3 goals and Alex Reid, Noah Alexander, Mikey Smith and Drew Harbour each knocked in a score for the Warriors (13-2-2).

Alter 16, Ponitz 0: Parker Simms poured in four goals to lead Alter (15-1-2) in this Division II sectional.

Beavercreek 4, Bellefontaine 0: Dominic Calabrese knocked in two goals and Preston Casey and Mark Rzecznik each added a goal for Beavercreek at this Division I sectional.

Bethel 3, Miami East 0: Daniel Ross opened the scoring off a Joe Miller cross and Korry Hamlin and Tyler Brueckman each netted a penalty kick goal for Bethel (13-4-1) in this Division III sectional.

Carroll 5, Valley View 0: Sean Dosedel scored twice and Eric Watson, Max Haney and Chris Moon each added a goal for Carroll (15-1-1) in this Division II sectional.

Newton 6, Southeastern 1: Nick Honeycutt tallied 3 goals and Jack Yoder added two goals with 3 assists to lead Newton in this Division III sectional.

Northmont 6, Greenville 1: Noah Teague led Northmont with three goals.

Springboro 4, Tecumseh 1: Christian Wright put in two goals and Cole Hamilton had a goal and an assist for Springboro (8-5-4) at this Division I sectional. Alex Arevalos netted a penalty kick for Tecumseh (10-7-1).

Temple Christian 2, Lima Central Catholic 1: Cameron Worsham knocked in both goals for Temple Christian (11-4-3) in this Division III sectional.
