Fairfield’s Jackson Carman to play in U.S. Army All-American Bowl

Butler County will have a representative in the 2018 U.S. Army All-American Bowl.

Jackson Carman, a junior offensive tackle for Fairfield High School's football team and one of the nation's top recruits in the 2018 class, has accepted an invitation to play on Jan. 6, 2018, at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas.

“It’s a huge deal,” Fairfield coach Jason Krause said Wednesday. “It’s a great opportunity for our program and a great opportunity for Jack Carman. There’s a lot of good things that come with your kids being exposed to those kind of things.”

Krause said Carman made it official Tuesday.

Extremely blessed and excited to say that I've committed to play in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl in 2018 ! #ArmyStrong ⚔️⚫️

“A few months ago, I got a call from a couple guys from the U.S. Army All-American game,” Krause said. “They were offering Jack the opportunity to play in the game. I think he’s the first player in Ohio offered that opportunity for the 2018 game.

“Since that time, they’ve been kind of recruiting and calling probably every other week, just kind of wanting to know Jack’s interests and Jack’s thoughts. Three guys came in (Tuesday) and spent the day here and watched us practice and talked to Jack a little bit. They took his family to dinner, and Jack committed to play in the game.”
