2 Browns appear on NFL Network’s Top 100 list

The NFL concluded its list of the Top 100 Players of 2016 on Wednesday by unveiling the top 10, which was headed by Carolina quarterback and league MVP Cam Newton at No. 1.

Only two Cleveland Browns players appeared in the top 100, with tight end Gary Barnidge coming in at 94 and tackle Joe Thomas appearing at 23.

Thomas has appeared in the Top 100 every year since the NFL Network began compiling the list in 2011. He was 25th last year, 18th in 2014, 28th in 2013, 82nd in 2012 and 43rd in 2011.

Barnidge appeared on the list for the first time.

The Browns have had at least two players in the Top 100 in each of the six seasons. The most came in 2014 when Cleveland placed four on the list, led by wide receiver Josh Gordon at 16, along with Thomas (18), cornerback Joe Haden (23) and safety Tashaun Gibson (67).
