Bengals to break out ‘specialty’ jerseys Sunday vs. Bills

The Cincinnati Bengals will wear their orange jerseys Sunday afternoon against the Buffalo Bills at Paul Brown Stadium.

Orange is designated as a specialty jersey by the NFL, which means the Bengals can only wear them twice a year. The other game will be Nov. 26 at home against Cleveland.

The Bengals record when wearing their orange jerseys is 19-6-1 (15-6-1 with white pants, 4-0 with black pants). The team’s success in orange is far and away better than the other uniform combinations.

Here are the others since 2004, the year of the team’s last significant uniform redesign.

Black jersey, black pants: 15-11-1

Black jersey, white pants: 32-31-1

White jersey, white pants (color rush): 1-1

White jersey, black pants: 25-28

White jersey, white pants: 12-27
