Badin grad wins top league honors at Cedar Crest

Elizabeth Sunderhaus has completed a standout freshman season with the Cedar Crest College women's basketball team in Allentown, Pa.
The Badin High School graduate garnered three honors in the Colonial States Athletic Conference. She was named Rookie of the Year while earning spots on the CSAC's first unit and Sportsmanship Team.
Sunderhaus, a 6-foot forward/center, led the Falcons in scoring (14.5) and rebounding (12.1) this year. She shot 51.3 percent from the floor and 81.9 percent from the foul line, averaging 2.8 assists, 2.3 blocked shots and 1.8 steals per game.
She became the first Cedar Crest player to be named first team all-conference since the 1998-99 campaign.
The Falcons went 14-12, breaking the single-season school record for victories. They also collected the first CSAC tournament win in school history.
Baseball
Lambuth senior outfielder Bryan Willsey (Fairfield) is hitting .314 with a team-high 13 RBIs and 16 hits through 15 games for the 11-4 Eagles.
• Union (Ky.) junior pitcher Jason Parsons (Hamilton) is 2-0 with a save through 11 games for the 10-0-1 Bulldogs.
Parsons' earned run average is 5.02. He has 13 strikeouts and three walks in 14 1/3 innings.
Women's indoor track
Cedarville freshman Katie Lanphier (Cincinnati Christian) contributed to a fourth-place finish in the 800-meter relay (1:53.32) Feb. 21 at the NCCAA Indoor Track & Field Championship.
The host Yellow Jackets captured their fourth straight NCCAA team championship.
Women's swimming
Pittsburgh junior Allie Horvath (Badin) placed 14th in the 200-yard backstroke (2:01.66) and 16th in the 100 back (57.06) at the Big East Championships on Feb. 18-21 in Indianapolis.
Both times were personal bests for Horvath. The Panthers finished third in the team standings.
