Martin wins Met title

BATAVIA — Liberty Twp. resident Alex Martin successful defended his title in the Tony Blom Metropolitan Amateur Golf Championship.
Martin scored a 5-and-3 victory over Robert Gerwin II of Cincinnati on Sunday in the 36-hole championship match at Elks Run Country Club.
Martin, who is a junior-to-be at Indiana University, is a St. Xavier High School graduate.
