GIRLS BASKETBALL

CARLISLE 40, NEW MIAMI 33: The host Indians roared out to a 22-9 first-half lead and held on from there. Freshman guard Alexis Murphy hit three 3-pointers and converted 4-of-7 free-throw tries to lead Carlisle with a game-high 15 points. New Miami's Alyssa Rison finished with nine points, and Amanda Matheny added eight in the loss. Carlisle (4-6) plays at Preble Shawnee on Saturday. New Miami (4-6) had won three of its previous four games.

BOYS BOWLING

BADIN 2,618, PURCELL MARIAN 2,161: A.J. Harrell (226-198—424) and Adam Hartman (228-195—423) each tossed almost identical 400 series to lead the Rams, and teammate Mike Story threw a 205 game, as Badin claimed Thursday's Jan. 8 bowling win over Purcell Marian. Badin, now 4-5 overall and 2-1 in the Greater Catholic League, will next compete in the GCL tournament, which will be Jan. 19 at Colerain Bowl in Cincinnati.

HAMILTON 2,611, PRINCETON 2,551: Kyle Tillery (233-229), C.J, Prichard (213), Erik Bundy (213) each turned in solid games to lead Big Blue to Thursday's Jan. 8 Greater Miami Conference win over host Princeton at Princeton Lanes. Hamilton is now 7-3 overall and 3-2 in the GMC.

OAK HILLS 2,651, HAMILTON 2,621: Despite solid games from Kyle Tillery (244-204), Jake Moore (238), C.J. Prichard (205-208) and Jason Schlenk (202), Greater Miami conference foe Oak Hills edged Hamilton by 30 points to claim the win Tuesday, Jan. 6.

FAIRFIELD 2,650, ELDER 2,474: The Fairfield boys bowling team recorded its first varsity win of the season in a nonleague contest with Elder on Monday, Jan. 5. Jonathan Stupak (205—395), Brad Becker (216—385) and D.J. Keith (204—382) turned in solid series for the Indians, who are now 1-5 overall and 0-4 in the Greater Miami Conference. Fairfield's next two contests are GMC battles: Monday vs. Princeton at Fairfield Lanes; and Wednesday on the road against Oak Hills at Western Bowl in Cincinnati.
