TIMEOUT — with Tony Cassano, Middle Linebacker, Senior
Badin vs. Alter, 7:30 p.m., Friday, Nov. 7
Friday, November 07, 2008
What's the biggest difference between playing outside linebacker and middle linebacker?
"Outside it's more open field, but inside you pretty much have to bang with the big boys all game."
Other than any of your coaches, what teacher at Badin has had the biggest influence on your life?
"Mrs. (Gina) Helms, because she's one of those people you can always go talk to and just be real with her."
What's your favorite pizza place?
"Papa John's."
How can it not be Cassano's?
"Cassano's pizza was just something I never grew up on. People ask me all the time, 'Do you own that place?' And I always say, 'I wish. That guy's loaded.' "
How many text messages do you send and receive each day?
"Probably close to 75. That's something I do a lot. I don't call people, I just text them."
What is your favorite Web site?
"ESPN.com, pretty much. But Saturday morning it's journal-news.com or Yappi."
What's your fantasyy football team's name?
"Team Cassano. Boring, I know, but my dad (JournalNews sports writer Rick Cassano) set up the team and he's not too flashy with that stuff."
Who has a better shot at winning a championship, the Badin Rams or Team Cassano?
"The Badin Rams. Team Cassano was picked by Rick Cassano, so the chances are not very high for them."
What do you think will be your longest lasting memory from this season?
"Let's hope it's a state championship. But as of right now, it has to be that game last week (a 33-27 overtime victory against Clinton-Massie in the first round of the playoffs)."
