Roundup: Vikings remain in hunt for playoffs

CINCINNATI — New Miami kept its Division VI playoff hopes alive Friday, Oct. 10, with a 30-20 Miami Valley Conference victory on the road at Summit Country Day.
Jarrad Faulkner rushed for 104 yards and three touchdowns on just eight carries to pace the Vikings, who improved to 5-3 overall and 2-3 in the MVC. The Silver Knights fell to 3-5, 0-5.
Josh Hampton had a touchdown run for New Miami.
Faulkner added a pair of conversion runs. His 65-yard touchdown jaunt put the Vikes up 10 with 5:36 to play. An interception by Jacob Lewis sealed the win.
New Miami hosts Cincinnati Country Day next Friday.
Mt. Healthy 34, Ross 7
ROSS TWP. — Jamie Freeman rushed for 125 yards and three touchdowns to lead the visiting Owls over the Rams in Fort Ancient Valley Conference Scarlet Division play.
Matt Bailey added 105 yards on the ground and Devin Brown chipped in 83 for Mt. Healthy (3-5, 1-2). Brown also threw a TD pass.
Zach Wilson had 71 yards rushing — including an 18-yard TD run — on 12 carries for Ross (1-7, 0-3).
Brady Foley and Erik Geiser combined to pass for 180 yards for the Rams. Logan Hannon caught three passes for 82 yards, while Casey Vatter snared three for 32 yards.

MONROE — Chris Kasper kicked a 22-yard field goal in the fourth quarter to lift the Crusaders past the Cougars at Gene Switzer Field.
Dayton Christian improved to 4-4 overall and 2-3 in the Miami Valley Conference. CCS fell to 1-7, 0-5.
