Barlow received the Coaches Award her senior year while leading Big Blue to a second-place finish in the Greater Miami Conference. She was named all-conference three years and received a softball scholarship to Miami University, where she was named All-Mid-American Conference in 1984, '85 and '86. She graduated from MU with a bachelor's degree in public administration and administration of law and criminal justice, with a minor in sociology. She later earned her master's degree at the University of Cincinnati and taught at UC and Xavier for five years.

Mike DiStaola, Class of 1947 and Athletic Director: After attending Miami University and Cedarville College, DiStaola began his teaching and coaching careers at Middletown before coming to Hamilton in 1953, teaching at Lincoln and Jackson elementaries. He later taught at Roosevelt Junior High and Harding Junior High while also coaching football, basketball and baseball. After a brief stint in Lancaster, DiStaola returned to Hamilton in 1965 and coached 10 years under fellow Hall of Famer Fred Garretson at Taft. He also coached basketball and baseball under fellow Hall of Famer Marv McCollum. In 1976, DiStaola became assistant principal and athletic director at Taft and, in 1980, at Hamilton High. Under his tenure, HHS won the baseball state championship in 1983 and softball state championship in 1985.

Joe Hudson, Class of 1966: Hudson graduated from Garfield after playing football for three years and running track for two years. He held the Garfield, district and regional shot put records in 1965 and '66. Hudson led all scorers with four touchdowns in the Griffins' 59-18 Homecoming win against Fairfield. He also had two touchdowns against Taft and helped lead the team to an upset win against fourth-ranked Middletown.
