Computer picks LSU in a close finish, 23-21
Thursday, December 20, 2007
If the computer is correct, the BCS championship game will be a great one.
A computer game simulation produced by WhatIfSports.com for the Dayton Daily News comes up with this final from New Orleans: LSU 23, Ohio State 21.
Extras
WhatIfSports.com "played" the game 1,000 times with LSU winning 61 percent of the matchups.
In the final product, LSU churns out 212 yards rushing, led by Jacob Hester's 123 yards and two touchdowns.
For OSU, Chris Wells finishes with 154 yards and two touchdowns, but quarterback Todd Boeckman throws two interceptions and kicker Ryan Pretorius misses two field goals.
The computer gives the Buckeyes one last chance, starting on their own 13-yard line with 1:51 to play. After one first down, a holding penalty and a sack dooms Ohio State's chances.
