Monroe boil advisory in effect Wednesday
Tuesday, May 20, 2008
MONROE — Due to inclement weather on Tuesday, May 20, the city has rescheduled work to shut down the water main to do the repair work on Serena Way begining at 8 a.m. Wednesday, May 21. The work will end when repair is completed, city officials said. No water will be available to residents during the repair time.
When water is restored, a boil advisory will be in effect for at least 48 hours. It is a precautionary measure required by the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency, according to a news release from the city of Monroe. Under the advisory, residents should boil their water used for drinking, cooking and personal hygiene. It is possible that "red" water will appear shortly after water service is restored.
