Fairfield Twp. residents, you are not being fully protected. Currently, a cell-phone tower is being proposed to be built at 6529 Liberty-Fairfield Road. T-Mobile approached the property owner, Emma Bowling, and she agreed to a contract where she will receive a monthly payment for the lease of her property.

Why should you be concerned about a cell-phone tower? Here is just a small portion of the research that I found online with regards to cell-phone towers and their dangers:

• Cell-phone towers emit EMR, or electromagnetic radiation, which could have adverse affects on our health. ...

• The FDA has stated that EMR is a “probable human carcinogen.” The FDA has also rejected the claim that cell-phone towers are safe.

• Cell-phone towers could lower your property values 20 to 40 percent. A home typically worth $150,000 might now only be worth $90,000 to $120,000 because of the close proximity of a cell-phone tower.

• Your pets and livestock are negatively affected by the electromagnetic radiation.

• It’s a gigantic eyesore.

A group of residents has been fighting a yearlong battle to stop the cell-phone tower from being built. Our township trustees could choose to change the zoning of the Emma Bowling (property), thus protecting all of the residents, but, at this point in time, they have not stepped forward to do the right thing. Please join us in our efforts to stop this hazardous cell-phone tower. Contact your township trustees — Steve Morgan, Terry Scharnhorst and Mark Sutton — and ask them to do the right thing, by protecting all of their residents from this dangerous cell-phone tower.
