I want to thank the Butler County Veterans Service Association for the wonderful tribute they had Nov. 11 at Colligan Lodge in Veterans Park. It had everything — from wonderful tributes by veterans who had served, “Taps” and the wonderful bagpipes that came from the sheriff’s department. It was truly a very memorable service.
Once again, Sheriff (Richard) Jones proves how conceited and unpatriotic he is. ... To put his picture and the pictures of his family in the Hamilton JournalNews under the guise of honoring veterans is shameful. It just makes me sick. ...
... All of us are proud of our families in the military, but I couldn’t help but notice the sheriff’s ad Nov. 11. ... This man will do anything and has no shame in trying to get votes. Why couldn’t he have recognized his deputies who have served, or people in Butler County who have given their lives in the current conflict? This was nothing more than an attempt to get more and more votes. ... I think it is tacky and shameless.
Regarding the Hamilton student who got his hair cut with the “B” on it: I think it looks much nicer and neater than those that hang down to their shoulders and looks dirty. I think he looks very nice.
I took a ride out in West Chester on Tylersville Road. Thanks, President Obama. Your stimulus money is working there and the road is better. When you get back into Hamilton, oh my goodness. It is like the pits.
