In reference to the Community Voice caller who was complaining about having his power off for 20 hours: The reality is that we are blessed to have our utilities here in Hamilton. Everybody was up and running — at least 99 percent was — in less than 24 hours, just like last year during the wind storm in September. Once again, we had power and hundreds of thousands of Duke Energy people did not. Don’t complain and don’t whine. Be thankful we have the cheapest utilities in the state of Ohio, which we do, and that we get them up and running when we have problems.
I want to thank the person who turned in my coupon holder, which had a lot of freebies. I lost it in Kroger late one night. It means so much to me that they turned it in. I just want to thank them.
I was reading the (July 4 letter to the editor) “A fatal wound,” about Gov. Ted Strickland cutting the funds to the libraries. Why doesn’t the government do us all a favor and start at the top, instead of at the bottom? Start at the top and work their way down. I am tired of being the bottom guy when they start cutting everything.
