So if Medicare is so great …

... If Medicare was such a wonderful thing — as Democrats claim it is — then why do we need a new health care bill that’s almost 2,000 pages? Why not just make Medicare available — just as it is — to all the people who do not have medical coverage. Of course, the answer is — Medicare is bankrupt. They know it’s bankrupt. This is about control. This isn’t about improving anybody’s health care. If the Democrats were worried about improving health care, they would ban things like cigarettes and all tobacco products. They would go after alcohol. They would go after things that actually harm people. This is about control. ...

... Don’t you think it’s irresponsible of a neighbor who just lets his leaves blow into everybody else’s yard and doesn’t bother cleaning up his yard?

If you love the way the federal government and the great, hallowed President Obama have handled the H1N1 virus, wait until you get a hold of his health care. If you think you see long lines now, sign up for this program, boys. (That’s) Change we can believe in.

I wonder why everyone is complaining now about people who have to use food stamps. ... A lot of these people were used to buying steak and lobster when they had their jobs, but since George Bush has made everybody drop to their knees and live below what they’re used to, you want people to stop eating what they are used to eating. ... Quit hating. Quit being jealous. Quit voting Republican.

In my opinion, we should set up a fund — for the people who don’t have a lot of money — where we could send in $5 donations for Mike Fox — since he’s in trouble — because he benefited us so much with the highway and a lot of things. Anyway, what happened to the saying, “If you scratch my back, I’ll scratch yours”?

With all the convictions, indictments and ethics investigations of our officials and the people they do business with, I have to ask the question: Where has our prosecutor been? It shouldn’t be hard to find a villain in this story — the GOP of Butler County.

I’m on Main Street in Hamilton and there’s a big semi that turned the corner — right in front us — and almost hit us. That’s a problem. All the big semis seem to want to come downtown now — and they let them do it. Every time I turn around on Main Street, there’s a big semi parking or turning. They are tearing all our streets up and that’s why we have dirty, filthy streets. ...

An idiot can run an insurance plan with ulimited administrative resources, the power to confiscate (tax) people's money and dictate coverages. That is what is in store with government healthcare. Just like an idiot can print money, accrue debt for future generations, use taxpayers to pay off political allies and then call it a stimulus program. Life is good when you can use other people's money for everything. Let's get a real constitutional American next time, and ignore the political parties.

I agree. Medicare for all. There are just too many spineless democrats in congress for it to pass. Moderate democrats are worthless.

But no, it is not about control, it is about covering people who cannot be covered in the private system because of corporate bureaucracy. You would only be able to access the public option if you are currently uninsured, so you can't say that it will lead to "socialized medicine."

Someone has no bigger problem than leaves naturally falling from trees and blowing around.

Someone else thinks that trucks should be banned from state highways.

Someone else thinks our county prosecutor should take over a federal case from the US Attorney.

Is it any wonder this city is dying? People have lost sight of what is truly important.
