I read the column by Steven Joyce (June 10, “Boehner’s assumptions, logic a formula for disaster”) and I wanted to say that he’s right on target. He really illuminated the facts for a lot of people to see and hopefully they will educate themselves. Now if we can get people to understand that the Medicare prescription drug plan under the Bush administration and the Republicans was unfunded, the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan were unfunded, and the Bush tax cuts ... have resulted in major deficit spending over the last several years. They ought to go back and see how many times (George W.) Bush and the Republicans raised the debt ceiling between 2000 and 2008. Maybe they will understand the Republicans are for the rich and that’s all they care about.
