‘I am a Jesus freak, and I’m proud of it’

I cannot understand for the life of me why more people are not speaking out about all the changes our government is making.

No, that is not true. They are probably just like I have been until now. Scared of what others will say, so just keeping quiet — fear.

Can’t they see what is happening? Our God-given rights are being taken from us. Plus, there is so much evil and hate. The newspaper is full of it. I can only read a little of the paper before I get depressed.

Just a very short time ago, I lived in the wealthiest country in the world. No more.

I lived in a country where, if you worked hard, spent your money right, saved some and helped those in need, then your limits were as high as you were willing to reach. No more.

When you retired you could rest and enjoy the remaining years. No more.

So say whatever you want to about me, I’ll never deny my God.

Now I’ll say it for some of you — I am a Jesus freak, and I’m proud of it.

You cannot continue blaming everything on President George W. Bush. He is not the one in control.

‘You’ve ruined
the auto industry’

What will auto dealer closings mean to you (JournalNews, June 14):

First, the auto dealerships are not closing. I called my dealer, and he said, “We will be open to service your car.” The problem comes when my auto reaches old age. Where will I get a new car? What will the landscape (and the economy) look like then?

Second, will I find what I want where I want it? Will I have to go 30 miles (each way) for an oil change? What if General Motors and/or Chrysler close down for good in X years?

I bought my car trusting that my dealer would stay open and the service department would fix it promptly and reasonably and honor all guarantees or warranties.

Thank you, Barack Obama; you’ve ruined the auto industry. I just hope my next car isn’t an imported one from a Communist nation.

‘More positive items’

I would like to see more positive items and less negative ones on those people who break laws and are given too much publicity.

Many people are doing kind things, like the family from Trenton that stopped, got out of their car to help my husband and I unload two large boxes out of our van. Let’s have a good deeds column.
