The machines are also so close together that the little so-called walls on the side are so low that people on either side of your machine can see exactly what you’re doing. ...
Now that they voted in the casinos down in Cincinnati, I, for one, would not go unless I took a machine gun, a bullet-proof vest and two German shepherds with me.
I hope it is not too late for the new City Council to cancel the ill-conceived and idiotic plan to install red-light cameras that will fleece the motorists. Cities that have them installed are now canceling them. When motorists learn where cameras are located, they tend to avoid those routes. Cameras will not be good for the uptown businesses that need a robust traffic flow.
Editor’s note: The city of Hamilton has no plans to use its one mobile traffic-enforcement camera to catch red-light violators. It will be used to ticket speeders.
Regarding the Nov. 5 letter from Sarah Thompson (“Live and let live”): I really wanted to thank her for writing a letter like that. She couldn’t have said it any better. It was a wonderful letter. I just wanted to applaud her for taking the time to write such a letter. I can only hope other people will read it and maybe open their eyes a little bit. If people in the world would have her attitude, I think the world would be a much better place to live in. Thank you, Sarah and Hamilton JournalNews, for posting that letter.
