I want to congratulate the 18 young men who graduated from the Butler Tech Fire Rescue Academy. It was an excellent graduation ceremony. These young men deserve it, and I wish them the best.

The sheriff’s department has done its job in cutting back, but it seems like the Hamilton City police and fire departments don’t want to do their part. The Hamilton City Police Department needs to cut back by at least 20 percent. That means reducing about 20 officers. People may not like that, but they are no different than any other business in this town. There are no jobs here. The ones that are here are cutting back.

I live in West Chester and go to church in Hamilton, way out on Main Street. I am in disbelief, every time we ride out Main Street, that the city of Hamilton would spend all that money to repave the streets but leave those terrible, bumpy bricks. Maybe they need to come to West Chester to the intersection of West Chester Road and Cincinnati-Dayton Road and see how our people not only widen the intersection, but also designate crosswalks that make it nice to cross, but also very smooth.

To the presidential bashers and all Republicans, President Barack Obama is a great president. I have lost no freedom at all. Republicans, get over it. You lost, and you’re nothing but obstructionist. You don’t care about the good of the country. All you want to do is make this administration look bad.

To the caller who said the American Medical Association is at fault for our health care needs: That caller could not be more wrong. The problem with our health care system is the insurance companies. They are the ones who dictate everything.
