Let me get this straight. The Nov. 12 Community Voice caller said, in essence, that because I worked hard for years so I could get a college education, I am an elitist and an idiot. Furthermore, I am to blame because some nutcase in Texas flipped out and killed a bunch of people. Maybe the caller should consider going back to school. He seems to lack certain critical thinking skills.
I thought the Nov. 15 editorial cartoon was in extremely poor taste. The Sesame Street cartoon was completely out of line. Imagine all the little kids who saw that. I think the person who wrote it really has a case of misplaced priorities because I didn’t find it one bit amusing. I found it to be rather offensive. Whoever drew that cartoon needs to be fired.
Responding to the Community Voice caller who told the football players to grow up: My son is one of those football players. They put their hearts and souls into playing football and they lose every year — when the Hamilton Big Blue should have been in the playoffs. Why don’t we quit playing politics in these schools and quit keeping these same old coaches, and bring something new into our schools? Let’s quit playing politics because, in Hamilton City Schools, it is all about who you know. ...
Community Voice callers are upset about large trucks on Main Street in Hamilton. It is Ohio 177, a state route. That’s where trucks belong — on state routes. Other options for trucks would be east on Ross Avenue and west on Park Avenue. Both of those are city streets. Trucks belong on state routes.
