Cindy McCain strikes back at “The View”
If you missed “The View” on Friday, you missed a lot — mainly the third degree given John and Cindy McCain by members of that hard-hitting quartet, who asked about everything from Gov. Sarah Palin to home ownership to the separation of church and state.
At one point, Joy Behar told McCain that two of his campaign ads are “untrue … they’re lies.” Later, when McCain mentioned that he wanted to appoint Supreme Court justices who “strictly interpret” and “enforce” the Constitution, Goldberg asked: “Do I have to be worried about becoming a slave again?”
“In spite of what you see … in the newspapers, and on shows like The View — I don’t know if any of you saw The View yesterday, they picked our bones clean — in spite of what you see, that’s not what the American people are saying and what they are believing,” Cindy said over the weekend at a Republican event in Michigan.
She continued, “They are now seeing a clear difference with these candidates, and they are seeing who is going to make the best President, and that’s why we’re pulling ahead.” If you’re curious as to what she’s all ticked about, here’s a taste. (Part 1 of 3 -YouTube has them all.)

Worry about being a slave again? AGAIN? Did she recently get released? She never was a slave, doesn’t know what that’s like, and there’s NO ONE ALIVE today that was responsible for that horrendous behavior & attitude. I refuse to feel guilt for something I didn’t do, especially in a state that was heavily invested in the Underground Railroad. If ALL white people were horrible plantation inclined idealists then change would of never happened. The racial tension even with a presidential candidate of color shows that some people don’t want unity even though they promote the idea!By null

Uh, Whoopi, the Bill of Rights is part of the Constitution. A little education on the constitution is in order if you’re going to play political pundit. A better question might have been to ask how McCain explains McCain Feingold in terms of the First Amendment.By TRB

Barbara Walters just took the final step over into total stupidity. She and her gal pals on The View staged a liberal ambush of John and Cindy McCain, and used the bimbos in the studio audience as stooges. Joy Behar, Whoppi Goldberg, and Barbara WaWa, took turns throwing out liberal catch phrases, buzz words, and lies. McCain’s appearance on the View brings up another pig analogy: if you get in a wrestling match with a pig, you both get dirty and the pig loves it. Just to be clear: the women of The View behaved like pigs!By dpkdayton

“Do I have to be worried about becoming a slave again?” Are you freakin kidding me? Goldberg should apologize for this ignorant comment. Someone should explain to that dolt that it was a Republican that actually freed the slaves. Also, maybe she should bother to read the Constitution. Hey Whoopi, check out Amendment 13 you jerk.By foster

I have never watched The View, I work during the day and would have better things to do with my time anyway, but I know that there are both liberals and conservative hosts. I do not know anything about Joy Behar, but I do know that Barbara Waters counts many Republicans as her personal friends. She may be “old”, like McCain, but she is hardly bitter. Conservatives accuse anyone who doesn’t agree with them on everything as “ulta-liberal.” We moderates are getting sick of it. This is politics, Cindy. If you can’t take it, get out!By Miami Co.

In the annals of history, the shortest time of slavery was the African. The Jews were slaves the longest of any people. Notice I didn’t say race, we’re all one race, it’s called “HUMAN”. Why some individuals insist on breaking out the “slave” card I’ll never know, perhaps, their self worth is bankrupt.By gjg

Historically, slavery has been known on virtually every continent except Antartica. Most of us have ancestors who either were slaves or owned slaves or both. I don’t think that’s the issue. I think Cindy McCain needs to stop whinning and refute the accusations with facts, if she can.By waitingfortheworldtochange

Does anybody still wonder why our country is so “messed up”? Watch all of puppets being controlled by the media. Dance puppets! Dance! Americans, if you want to really know how to vote to help your country, family, and future…I hope you aren’t looking for that answer on The View..if you are…you shouldn’t be voting anyway.By Billy

Whoopie’s point was over-the-top, but a good point. A point that even McCain acknowledged. Whoopie was pointing out that ADMENDMENTS to the constitution have been necessary to move this country foward and that McCain’s narrow thinking of strict enforcement of the constitution may limit admendments or the thought that it may be needed. (not reversal as she indicated).By American

Thank God we have freedom of the press, and in modern times, freedom of the media, so that citizens can examine many viewpoints from a variety of sources, including “The View”. In countries like China, the government controls all the media. I don’t watch the show, but thank God I can if want to.By Kat

I was surprised to hear about this since I never watch the View. About two weeks ago, I saw comments made by Elizabeth Hasselbeck, the only - as I understand it - conservative on the panel. During her remarks at an event, she said that Michelle Obama came on the show only after the campaign struck an agreement that several topics were “off limits.” Too bad the McCains didn’t think of that. I guess they expected to be treated with respect. Their mistake.By Collette

Thank God for Joy Behar! McCain’s Campaign Ads are finally being exposed as complete lies! To distort Obama’s efforts to protect kids from sexual predators is simply sick. Poor old McCain has lost his integrity in his quest for power. Too bad, I used to adore McCain. Now the straight talk express (his bus) needs renamed the “Liar, Liar, McCain’s Pants are on Fire” Express. Thanks again to the ladies on The View! Honesty does exist!By Collette

The whole reason this country still faces racial tension is because of people like Whoopi. Shame on those women for treating Senator McCain in that way. Even if they don’t agree with everything he says, they should still respect him for what he did for our country. I used to watch the show, but never again. Whoopi already is a slave to the rest of the media and the flighty whims of an undereducated and hypnotized populace. If she weren’t, she’d have her own ideas, ideals, and cough dress code, rather than repeating and jumping on new fads and ideas that she believes are the ‘most popular view’ and ‘what viewers want.’By country girl

Can anyone imagine if there was a show with 4 conservative women and 1 liberal woman and the Obama family went on the show for a bashing session? NO, you probably can’t because it wouldn’t happen! There’s no such show and there never will be on NBC, CBS, or any of the other liberal broadcasters. What a one sided media. That isn’t news, and it never will be. i am so glad that i no longer live in ohio, It is so sad that you all have such passion in your tone when it comes to john and cindy mccain getting their feelings hurt. But when it comes to the fact that your unemployment numbers are growing by the day, your quiet as a church mouse. Your sitting around blogging about the mccains and how they were approached by a tv personality with an opinion, look around daytonians everything closing down around you the only people safe are mcdonalds and walmart workers, and of course the mccains. It is such a sad thing that you all are so blinded by your own views that your are unwilling to see the truth, well fine it’s ok keep sitting arund feeling sorry for the poor mccains believe me they’ll be fine John will fill his jet with his free gas fly it home to one of his 7 houses that he forgot he owns and eat a heafty meal while saying the economy is ok, And cindy will keep spending 400 thousand dollars on 1 outfit incase you missed that 1. all the while you can go to your foreclosed home and explain to your children why you no longer have a job and some nice mexican man does, and they’ll say thats ok we didnt need to eat anyway. Now the good news is, if you stay as simple as the Mccain’s would like to believe you are, then John Mccain will be the only person in ohio employed. Please people wake up i am begging you, Which is more important his feelings or your family. do you want your children to struggle the same way we are now. It’s just to muchBy ohio lady

Whoopie is over the top with her attitude and Joy is just full of hot air! Hasselbeck needs another conservative on the show for suuport. Ohio lady- Please don’t patronize. I am reading what you are writing very clearly. I vote based on the truth (voting records that I read off of the government websites about each candidate). NOT what some hollywood actress circulates as truth. Obama has given me plenty of reasons never vote for him, and that’s my position. How much money a presidental candidate has makes no difference to me. Only a narrow minded person would discriminate against someone depending on how much money they make. Just because his wife’s family built a business like Budweiser, don’t assume he endorses getting drunk and driving. That’s ridiculous. You may want to proofread what you write before you post it, and don’t put words in someone’s mouth. I am very capable to speak for myself.By ohio lady

touchy touchy, country girl, seems as if i pushed a button. I am not discriminating agains anyone, god bless the beer maker, and i never said he was an advocate for drinking and driving, I said he voted against drunk driving laws. and if your checking voting records you can see that for yourself you dont need me to tell you. I am far from narrow minded, believe it or not i used to be a mccain supporter, i even campaigned for him in the primary until the lies startd to sink in, and he makes no sense when he speaks. so after listening to him and his rhetoric i realized he isnt speaking to me or for me, he’s just talking to win, he’s saying what he thinks people want to hear, thats why his speeches seem to change up perspective so often, as for palin she has no view nothing she’s playing on her family and is such an apparent red herring that is almost laughable. but you know what country girl you sound like mccain, you say you have so many reasons for not voting for obama, but you dont give any solid ones. I guess you have an economic plan too, i’ll listen cause it has to be more substantial than mccain’s. I want you to remember while their turning out the lights at the moraine gm, THE ECONOMY IS FUNDEMENTALLY SOUND!!! That came from your horses mouth.By democrat
