Where’s the best city to get a STEM job? Dayton named one of the top 25

Dayton has again been rated one of the country’s top cities for workers pursuing careers in science, technology, engineering and math.

Personal finance website Walltehub ranked Dayton the No. 25 best city for STEM workers in the U.S. That’s down a few spots from its ranking of No. 17 in 2017.

The ranking was based primarily on three factors including the job opportunities available, how “STEM friendly” a city is and the quality of life. Dayton was ranked as having the best quality of life of any city in Wallethub’s ranking while the gem city took the 29th spot for STEM job opportunities and came in 34th for its “STEM friendliness.”

Both Cincinnati and Columbus outperformed Dayton in the overall rankings though. Cincinnati grabbed the No. 11 overall spot in the ranking while Columbus came in at No. 13, according to WalletHub.

Seattle, Boston, Pittsburgh, Austin and Minneapolis took the top five spots in the ranking. Below is a list of how Ohio cities placed in the WalletHub ranking of the 100 best cities for STEM workers.
