College student high on drugs after wisdom teeth surgery accidentally emails TA

One college student did something she can't remember, but it's not what it sounds like.

BuzzFeed News reported that Abby Jo Hamele, a 19-year-old student at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln sent a humorous email she has no recollection of after getting her wisdom teeth pulled.

Hamele, who was recovering with "a lot of hydrocodone," after her surgery, sent an email to Kevin Patton, her teaching assistant for her Philosophy 101 class, asking for an extension on a paper.

The email could have been embarrassing, but Patton took it all in stride, posting a screenshot of her email on Twitter and getting over 28,000 retweets in the process.

Patton, who confirmed that the email did in fact reach him, replied politely.

"This email was, uh, a bit unorthodox," Patton wrote. "Should I assume that this is the result of some of those wisdom teeth meds?"

Patton said in his email that Hamele had time to send in a draft of her paper since it was actually due Nov. 28, so it worked out after all. According to BuzzFeed News, Patton got a good laugh out of the message too.
