SOUTHWEST OHIO —
The light snow that fell Wednesday never made it as far north as Interstate 70, Storm Center 7 Chief Meteorologist Jamie Simpson said, but accumulations ranged from just flakes in the Dayton area, to a coating on grass and cars in the southern suburbs to a half-inch and some slick spots in Butler, Warren and Clinton counties.
Those slick spots caused many a problem, including the closing of a portion of Ohio 63 in Warren County, from Lebanon through Ohio 741, because of slide-offs that involved multiple vehicles and a semitrailer. Minor injuries were reported.
Tonight, skies will remain mainly clear before clouds return by sunrise Thursday, with temperatures reaching the lower 30s on the support of breezes from the southwest, Simpson said.
Those breezes, kicking up to more than 20 mph at times, will send temperatures into the upper 40s. A rain or snow shower is possible just across the north Miami Valley as colder air returns.
Scattered snow showers expected ti return Friday won’t coat roads, but they may continue into the evening.
More clouds and snow showers are expected Saturday, with up to a half-inch possible on grassy areas.
Sunday will start in the teens, but clouds returning in the afternoon. Still, temperatures are expected to stay below freezing all day.
Rain forecast for the end of day on Monday may end up as snow on Tuesday, Simpson said.
