DETAILED FORECAST
Today: A passing flurry or isolated snow shower are possible through the evening and overnight hours, according to Storm Center 7 Meteorologist McCall Vrydaghs. Snow accumulation is not expected, she said.
Temperatures will fall below zero tonight with wind chills between 10 below zero and 20 below zero by morning.
Most of the Miami Valley is under a Wind Chill Advisory until 11 a.m. Saturday.

Saturday: Brutally cold morning expected with sub-zero wind chills. Sunshine is expected throught the day, but temperatures remain cold with highs only in the lower teens. Wind chills will reach into the low single-digits by the afternoon and through the evening.

Sunday: Cloudy and cold, but it will feeling better compared to the previous week, Vrydaghs said. Temperatures will climb into the 20s for the afternoon with highs near 30 degrees.
An approaching cold front will bring scattered snow showers into the area by the evening.
“We may see some light snow late evening, but the steadier snow should hold off until after midnight,” Vrydaghs said.
Temperatures will hover around freezing through the night, but a push of milder air from the south will bring some wintry mix by early Monday, leading to a messy morning drive.

Monday: A mix of snow, freezing rain and possibly some sleet to start Monday, making for a messy commute.
“It will not matter the type of precipitation falling as surface temperatures will likely remain below freezing even after the air temperature rises above 32 degrees,” Vrydaghs said.
“Due to leftover snowpack and the cold stretch leading into the event, the ground will lag behind on warming. Initially any precipitation falling, whether rain or snow will potentially freeze on contact.”
Precipitation is expected to change entirely to rain, and the ground will warm leading to better driving conditions into the afternoon. But it will be tough to tell when roads become safe for travel, Vrydaghs said.
Rain will end by Monday evening and temperatures will fall into the 20s Monday night. Leftover wet roads may refreeze for Tuesday morning’s drive.

Tuesday: Icy spots are possible in the morning but conditions will improve as temperatures climb. Skies will be partly sunny with highs in the lower 30s.
Wednesday: Mostly cloudy and a little milder with temperatures climbing into the lower to middle 40s. We'll have a chance for a few passing rain showers during the day.
