Anesthesiologists were reported to have the highest average salary in the nation, bringing in around $269,600 per year, according to the report. Surgeons came in at No. 2, making an average salary of around $252,910 while obstetricians and gynecologists ranked No. 3 with an average salary of around $234,310, according to U.S. News.
“Health care jobs are prominent on our list year after year and are predicted to continue growing rapidly within the job market by 2026,” said Rebecca Koenig, careers reporter at U.S. News in a prepared statement.
