The findings come from an unannounced Correctional Institution Inspection Committee inspection of the Dayton Correctional Institution on June 27 and 28.

This news outlet obtained the report using Ohio’s public records laws. It also obtained inspections of other state prisons, which the CIIC no longer posts online.
Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections officials say there’s a reason for the spike in violence, and they have taken steps to address this and other problems such as a troublesome number of inappropriate staff-inmate relationships.
