Expect delays as construction projects start in Mason, Deerfield Twp.

Motorists heading to or from the Mason and Deerfield Twp. areas can expect delays as construction detours start today and last through the coming months.

Close to $80 million in projects are planned along the Interstate 71 corridor from Hamilton County north to Kings Island Amusement Park. The projects are expected to improve traffic flow and safety, while providing a transportation network serving companies that are expected to create high-paying jobs in the area.

Western Row Road

Western Row Road between Columbia Road and Socialville-Fosters Road will be closed until 3 p.m. today, weather permitting.

The detour for the closure will take traffic to Columbia Road to Socialville-Fosters Road.

The road closure will occur on Western Row Road between Columbia Road and 2994 Western Row Road, which is approximately 1,000 feet east of Columbia Road. The closure is necessary for utility relocation work that will make way for the relocation of Columbia Road and the widening of Western Row Road.

Socialville-Fosters Bridge

Warren County and the Ohio Department of Transportation are also reminding people that starting Monday, March 14, the Socialville-Fosters Bridge over I-71 will be closed for about 40 weeks. Crews are already starting to work on the bridge replacement.

As part of that, ODOT will have short-term full closures on I-71 north and south from midnight to 5 a.m. Tuesday, March 15.

Short-term closures will be in 15 minute increments and law enforcement officers will maintain traffic.

These closures are to accommodate utility work near the Socialville-Fosters Road bridge over I-71.

These closures are steps toward the completion of improvements on Socialville-Fosters Road, which include widening the roadway to five lanes, replacement of the bridge over I-71 and the construction of a roundabout at Innovation Way.
