The monument, which was located on right of way owned by the city of Franklin, was removed sometime before 3 a.m. Aug. 17 by city crews. City crews then turned it over to Franklin Twp.
Officials from the township have declined any comments about the monument, where its located and what is planned for the monument.
A large crowd is expected when Franklin Twp. trustees meet at 6 p.m. today at the Franklin Twp. Administration Building, 458 Fairview Drive.
Here are 3 things to know:
1. Get there early.
Seating is limited inside the trustees’ meeting room and if as many people show up at they did Monday at the Franklin City Building, they will not be accommodated.
Doors will open at 5 p.m. and once maximum room capacity is reached, no one will be allowed entry into the meeting, Township Administrator Traci Stivers said.
2. Be concise.
Franklin Twp. officials said there will be a three-minute limit for people speaking at tonight’s meeting. Anyone wishing to speak must contact the township office at 937-746-2852 to be added to the list of speakers.
3. Expect a heightened police presence.
At Monday’s Franklin City Council meeting, a number of Franklin police officers and Warren County Sheriff’s deputies were stationed both inside and outside of the Franklin City Building.
